The task was to design a house that would get the most amount of daylight, allowing it to not use electricity and light bulbs. The house had to be 1,000 square feet. Once the model was built, we took a light and angled it towards the house at the same angle the sun would be at compared to the actual house.
Wind TurbinesFor the wind turbine project, we were required to design both horizontal and vertical turbines. The goal was to generate as much energy as possible in the different wind speeds.

Solar ReflectorFor this project, we were required to build a reflector to give more light through the window of the STEM Solar Studio north window. For our design, we dug a hole in the ground for the wooden post to go. The post is as tall as the height of the bottom of the north window. The reflector is angled at 45 degrees so it can reflect the most amount of light into the window. It can also be moved out of the way for certain parts of the day.
